He spared him custody but sentenced the lad to a wake up flogging with the cat, to be administered to the bare posteriors in the manner of a boy! The Justice being an ex naval man knew how to go about these things especially with disorderly young men.
On top of this, a spanking would seem appropriate too, given the childish way McGregor had seen fit to behave!
